Alex Valdez is a nonprofit leader, nurse in training, and former Sergeant in the New Jersey Army National Guard. Born and raised in Kearny, he is a proud graduate of Kearny Public Schools and Rutgers–Newark, where he earned his Master’s Degree in Public Administration.

For more than a decade, Alex has dedicated his career to public service, supporting low-income students, working-class families, and refugees across New Jersey.

Today, Alex is pursuing a career in nursing, continuing a life defined by service. He and his fiancée, a public school teacher, live in Kearny just minutes from where he grew up.

Alex is running for Hudson County Commissioner in District 9 to protect the opportunities that shaped his life and to ensure Hudson County remains affordable, safe, and clean for the next generation.
